This Houston area facility is an Underwriters Laboratories ( UL ) Listed monitoring station with CVSU and UUFX ratings that has gone through site analysis of compliance with standards UL 827 and NFPA 72. This facility far exceeds the minimum standards with more than just the required "hot redundant" alarm automation computer system. With a third "cold redundant" system in case of an emergency if both of the other two running machines are damaged. It's equiped with 2 natural gas generators, 2 back up air conditioning units ( 15 tons ) in case of failure and a third "cold redundant" Sure-Gard Virtual Alarm Receiver.


	Alarm monitoring over Internet Phone Traditional alarm systems transmit signals via a wire-based telephone line. This is a very dependable, time-tested method of communication. Recent advances in digital communications and broadband internet services have caused some telephone users to eliminate their "land-line" phone service and rely exclusively on wireless technology or to obtain a digital internet phone service based on Voice Over Internet (VoIP) technology. While there are distinct economic and convenience benefits in converting to these new technologies, there are also certain drawbacks:
		Service is dependent upon the reliability of the internet which currently experiences more outages than traditional phone service. VoIP phone service is powered by a premise electrical source rather than the telephone company central office and may require additional battery backup to maintain operation during local power outages. Connection to local 911 dispatch centers may be difficult and it may not be possible for the center to determine the caller's address. An internet connection may prevent the ability to "dial in" to an alarm system to fix certain problems and result in a more costly service call.
	These drawbacks compromise the reliability of your fire and security system. Because Alarm Depot Inc. has in its service a state-of-the-art monitoring center, we are able to provide alternatives which will minimize the unfavorable consequences to your security system caused by switching to the new technologies. We are able to offer system-powered cellular radio connection and direct IP-monitoring interfaces for many alarm systems which eliminate some of the problems with VoIP connections. 		Digital Alarm Monitoring Burglar, Fire, and Hold-up alarm systems are monitored at the central station over conventional telephone lines.

	Keyfobs A wireless remote or "keyfob" is similar to the remote entry button used on most newer cars and gives you the ability to turn your alarm system on or off at the push of a button from a range of up to 75 feet. In addition to arming your system, your keyfob can act as a "panic button" and can be used to open your garage door or turn your home lighting on and off for systems with these features.	Long Range Radio Monitoring Back-up for telephone based monitoring in the event telephone lines are interrupted or are intentionally cut by burglars.

	Door and Window Sensors Contact sensors installed on doors and windows are the primary detection component for most home and small business alarm systems. They are attached to the frame of the monitored door or window and operate mechanically through magnetic attraction. Contact sensors may be either hard-wired to the alarm panel or wireless and are very reliable.	2-Way Voice Monitoring Enables alarm dispatchers to talk directly with customers over specially designed speaker / microphones and to listen-in ( only upon an alarm ) in an attempt to determine if a burglary is occuring, and at that time notify police.

	Motion Detectors Infrared motion sensors provide one of the most reliable and cost effective methods for protecting open spaces in the home or office. These devices which, like other detection devices, can be either hard-wired or wireless, project an undetectable beam of infared light which senses motion within the 30 ft coverage area. The motion sensors can be adjusted to mitigate the motion of pets and décor items. Motion detectors are very reliable and are often used in conjunction with glass breakage sensors in locations with numerous entry points.	Management Solutions - Commercial Open / Close Supervision of your alarm system manages when your system is armed or turned-on; and when your system is disarmed or turned-off. Times can be established to supervise whether or not your system has been armed at the proper time. If not, a call is made by the alarm dispatchers to advise management of the condition. The same is true if the system is disarmed earlier than expected. A special pass-word is established for all authorized personnel to override the time schedule.

	Glass Break Detector Glass breakage detectors are activated by the sound profile of breaking glass and are able to filter out other common household noises such as slamming doors, thunderclaps and animal sounds. Because they communicate an alarm before an intruder enters the premise, they provide a measure of assurance over internal motion detectors.	System Maintenance Maintenance agreements are available for all types of systems.
